How to
Join Meeting costs are $5 per night to cover the costs of room hire and miscellaneous expenses. If you visit us and like the club atmosphere, the joining procedures are as follows: You will need to pay a joining fee of $120 this will pay for the club fees for 6 months and include the cost of your membership kit. The new member kit contains two workbooks. One workbook aims to develop your Communication skills and has 10 speech assignments to work through. The other workbook focus' on leadership skills and has projects that develop leadership skills such as mentoring, facilitation and team building. You will also receive 3 educational booklets which include: "Gestures: Your Body Speaks", "Your Speaking Voice" and "Effective Speech Evaluation". The cost of the membership also includes two advanced manuals, which will be sent to you when you have completed your first Communication workbook. The membership club dues help pay for educational material and program costs. If you visit our club and like what you see, you will be more than welcome to apply to join our club. This will be the first step to improving your public speaking and leadership skills. To join the club you will need to fill out a membership form and hand the form with your membership fee to our treasurer. The next link is to the Membership Application form to join Toastmasters International. When you join Erskineville Toastmasters you will be assigned a mentor. A mentor is someone who will help you to understand the club meetings and procedures and they will help you prepare for your first three speeches. Normally you participate in other parts of the meeting before doing a speech eg table topics. After your being in the club for 6 months,
you will need to pay your next installment of club dues. As you will already own
your membership kit you only have to pay for your club dues and Toastmasters
magazine subscription. Give your completed application form, with payment, to the club treasurer. |
